All referrals are made via your local authority SEN team and then pass the EHCP and accompanying relevant reports and data onto the Solihull team for pupils outside the borough. Once we receive a referral we assess the pupil against the spaces available and the needs of the current cohort. Decisions are fed back to the local authority of origin and they will then be in touch directly to feedback the result.
We are a heavily oversubscribed school and though we endeavour to support as many pupils as we can we have a limit to the class sizes we can accommodate. Nationally there are increasingly more pupils with EHC plans who cannot be accommodated in specialist provision. This is one of the key reasons we became a Teaching School, to support inclusion of all pupils in the settings they are in, by helping staff teams and families to address a wider range of needs.
